Chapter 1: The theory of the operation of the Mills slot machine is basically the same for all models. The engineering design changes incorporated into the machine over the years, refined and molded it into a better performing machine while not effecting the theory of operation. It is interesting to note when Mills eventually went to an electromechanical machine, the mechanical portion of the machine was basically the same bell mechanism.
