Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I live in Palm Desert, California. I am a retired electrical engineer, avid sports fan, freelance writer, and a golf historian. I started my creative writing career accidentally. Years ago, I made a hole-in-one at the country club where I was a member (which cost me a pretty penny!). One of the traditions in golf is the buying of drinks to everyone at the 19th hole afterwards. After telling my wife what happened, she asked me why doesn t everyone buy YOU the drinks instead. Well, that started my quest to find out how this tradition began. After countless years of researching the origins of golf and other sports, I concluded that this golf tradition must have evolved from an unrecorded Scottish golf custom many years ago. After taking several creative writing classes, I decided to write a novel entitled BOGIE Golf... the way it was (golf in 18th Century - St. Andrews, Scotland). As author of this book, I became an authority on the beginnings of golf and its custom and traditions passed on to the present day golfer. Today as a golf historian, I frequently lecture about golf on cruise ships, golf outings and banquets. After retiring, Robert Tiritilli, my partner and cartoonist/illustrator, and I wanted to continue our business relationship and develop a new sports project that would put the F back into FUN! With Bob s unique drawing talent and my writing and computer ability, we decided to publish a series of children s books that would leave some sort of legacy for the future generations of children and, of course, our grandkids. Basically, we wanted to show kids right from wrong in our non-violent sports stories. After much investigation, we decided on a bully theme. We found one of the biggest problems a child faces today is BULLYING. Bullies can affect and shape a young child s future views of life, especially in youth sports, where sports should be a fun and growing experience. As a consequence, we have published ten books along with the CD-ROMs in our bully series including two versions in Spanish using our LuckySports cartoon characters. This bully series is aimed toward children (8 and under) who are just beginning to interact with sport teams, coaches, fans and players. These stories serve as an excellent tool for an adult to start a conversation with a child about bullies, role models, good behavior, playing fair and most important ... just having fun. Our next project is a sequel to the Bully Series called The Making of a TeamMate .
