Richard E. Karberg is also the author of Silver Grille: New and Expanded Edition, The Silver Grille: Memories and Recipes and The Higbee Company and The Silver Grille. He was born and raised on the west side of Cleveland. He was a member of the arts and humanities faculty at Cuyahoga Community College for 35 years and has since retired. He is now working as a consultant for the Cleveland Botanical Garden.
A native Clevelander, Dr. James A. Toman has written 11 books on various aspects of Cleveland's history, focusing chiefly on the downtown area and public transportation. Past works include Cleveland's Changing Skyline, which he co-authored with Dan Cook, Cleveland Stadium: The Last Chapter, and Horse Trails to Regional Rails: The Story of Public Transit in Cleveland. Besides his many published books, Toman holds a Ph.D. in education/counseling and has been a teacher, counselor, and administrator in northeast Ohio schools for almost 40 years. He currently teaches education and psychology at Lorain County Community College.
