Product Details These eight sermons were shared with the author's congregation over the space of a year and presented on the church's designated Youth Emphasis Days. The messages grew out of a sense of empathy for Black people in general and young African Americans in particular. The key element to the success of African American youth is the self-determination to overcome mediocrity. Living beneath mediocrity hinders one from becoming one's best. In an unjust, prejudiced society, they must be armed with an internal commitment to live fulfilled lives in spite of their environment. Their key to living out their full potential is Jesus Christ! He said, "As a man (person) thinks in his heart so is he." Young Black people must see themselves functioning at their highest level of potential to overcome mediocrity, cross the finish line, and experience victory!
