ROBERT LAWLOR is the author of Sacred Geometry; Earth Honoring; and Voices of the First Day: Awakening in the Aboriginal Dreamtime. After training as a painter and a sculptor, he became a student of the Yoga of Sri Aurobindo, and lived for many years in Pondicherry, India, where he was one of the founding settlers of Auroville, the international spiritual community. It was in India that he discovered the works of the French Egyptologist and esotericist, R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz. This led him to a deep exploration of the principles and practices of ancient sacred science. An artist, lecturer, film maker, and translator (he has translated works of Alain Dani6lou and R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz), Lawlor lives on Flinders Island, off the coast of Australia, where he works with the Aborigines.
KEITH CRITCHLOW is the author of (among others) Order in Space, Islamic Patterns; and Time Stands Still Trained as a painter, Critchlow discovered geometry intuitively. A period of intensive geometric practice (and work with Buckminster Fuller) led him to the recognition that the universal principles of geometry are revealed and confirmed both by the area of design where art and mathematics meet and in the study of nature and ancient and medieval sacred cosmological Stone, Temple, Cathedral, and Mosque architectures. Keith Critchlow has been a senior lecturer at the Architectural Association in London, and has taught Islamic Art~ at the Royal College of Art. He has also participated as geometer in various sacred architectural projects, and is a cofounder of Temenos: A Review Devoted to the Arts of the Imagination, and of Kairos, a society whose object is "to investigate, study and promote traditional values of art and science." Keith Critchlow is presently Director of Research of the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture.
ARTHUR ZAJONC is Professor of Physics at Amherst College, where his research has concerned the nature of light and the experimental foundations of quantum mechanics. He has also taught and written extensively on interdisciplinary aspects of science, the history of science, culture, and spirituality, especially the work of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Rudolf Steiner. He is the author of the book Catching the Light: The Entwined History of Light and Mind (Bantam, 1993). Arthur Zajonc has been a visiting scientist at many laboratories, including the Ecole Normale Sup6rieure, and the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics. He was a Fulbright professor in Austria in 1993. He is a fellow of the Lindisfarne Association and the Fetzer Institute.
ANNE MACAULAY lives in Scotland where she has, for many years, studied the origins of the alphabet, the history of the guitar, the figure of Apollo, and other mysteries surrounding Pythagoreanism. Mrs. Macaulay has lectured at RILKO (Research into Lost Knowledge Organization) and has been a trustee of the Salisbury Center in Edinburgh.
