About the Author

Jay G Foonberg was sworn in as a lawyer in January of 1964 and immediately opened his own practice. Today he is Of Counsel to Bailey & Partners in Santa Monica, California. He lives in Beverly Hills, California, and practices probate litigation, trust litigation, and business litigation.

Mr. Foonberg has been awarded the Harrison Tweed Special Merit Award by the American Law Institute-American Bar Association (ALI-ABA) Committee on Continuing Professional Education for his long-term efforts in continuing legal education. He has also received the Gold Key, Platinum Key, and Highest Honors awards of the ABA Law Student Division and the Award of Merit from the ABA Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Foonberg has also been honored by the ABA General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section with the Donald C. Rikli Lifetime Achievement Award for his ongoing work with small firms and solo practitioners. He has been a member of the Executive Council of the ABA Law Practice Management Section and was the first Chair of the Law Office Economics Committee of the Inter-American Bar Association. Mr. Foonberg has been decorated by the governments of Brazil and Argentina in honor of his work to stimulate and increase trade between the United States and these countries.

He has lectured for law firm continuing legal education and bar associations in all fifty states and the District of Columbia, as well as all ten Canadian provinces and on every one of the seven continents.
