IT'S BACK!! NEA Trojan Horse in American Education now in CD ROM version. The 1984 book was the first expose of the National Education Association - the teacher's union, Everything included in the print version is now available on the CD ROM version. Included are: All 284 pages, all footnotes (156), Index & Appendix. In the new Preface to the 2011 CD ROM version author Samuel L. Blumenfeld explains that everything he wrote in 1984 is as relevant today as it was 27 years ago. He asserts knowing the history of the NEA is probably more important in 2011 than it was many years ago. He points to what has transpired in America following the 2010 elections proves people need to know what unions like SEIU and the NEA teachers union are up to. You need only look at early 2011 in Wisconsin when those unions literally took over the state Capitol in Madison for weeks. Blumenfeld in 1984 was the only person who had courage to take on the Teacher's Union. At that time the NEA vehemently denied it even was a union. It claimed to be a Professional Association that was only interested in helping the kid. Fast forward to 2011 when the Teacher's Union in Wisconsin, along with other government employee unions, brought the state of Wisconsin government to a halt. When Sam Blumenfeld finished his 1984 book on the NEA his manuscript was refused by all publishers. Reason: They all believed he and they would be dragged into court firvolously by the NEA Union to prevent him form getting his extensive research out into the public. Finally he found a brave small group who formed a new publishing company and risked everything to get his blockbuster revelations into print. Fortunately the NEA was more busy at that time dealing with newly elected Ronald Reagan and his administration to bother squashing Sam's publisher. The rest is history: the book sold tens of thousands of copies and was in print for many years. It was, and still is, the seminal book on the so-called professional group which ultimately dropped all pretenses of being devoted only to the kids and their education. As recently as 2009 the NEA's top attorney, Bob Channin [July 9, 2009, NEA Representative Assembly, San Diego] in a speech to his members stated:
Quote:[Why is the NEA effective?] It is not because of creative ideas, it is not because of the merit of our position, it is not because we care about children, it is not because we have a vision of great public schools for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power and we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people [members] who are willing to pay us millions of dollars in dues each year because they believe we are the union that can most effectively represent them, the unions that can protect their rights and advance their interests as education employees. unquote. (daytonos.com May 11, 2011) The NEA, like many other government employee unions, is spending millions and millions of dollars to get officialls elected who will do their bidding. So, citizens who pay the bills for education really need to know all the background facts. CD ROM: ISBN: 9780941995276.
