All sports require an understanding of basic skills and techniques which are essential for a particular sport. For many years, athletes and coaches have felt that success was dependent upon a thorough knowledge of 1) the technical; 2) the physiological and, 3) the psychological aspects of sport. However, in recent years, a fourth area of concern has emerged: Nutrition. With today's athlete being bigger, faster, stronger, and also highly experienced, it has become increasingly difficult to get the edge on the competition. It is in this environment that an interest in understanding nutrition has developed. Good nutrition will give the athlete the energy necessary to practice his/her sport, the technical skills necessary to achieve success and the ability to properly perform in competition. This, in turn, will provide him/her with the self confidence necessary to win.The goal of this practical and useful book is to give coaches, athletes, parents, and recreational exercisers a practical guide to the unique nutritional demands of athletics and exercises. A solid informational background for good nutrition and actual training table recipes are provided.About the Author:
