Synopsis
A Treasury of Fairy Tales is a collection of all time favorite children's tales retold for the modern child by Michael Foss. The stories of Hands Christian Anderson and the Brother Grimm, although classics of the genre, are often found to be rather long-winded for the modern child and the modern parent reading a bedtime story! In this volume, Michael Foss has re-written these stories so that none is longer than 2,000 word, while at the same time retaining all the original flavor of these old favourites. Classic stories such as Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella are accompanies in a Treasury of Fairy Tale by equally classic illustrations. Nearly every master of the form is represented, including Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, Kay Niesen and Warwick Goble. The illustrations, most in full color, are reproduced to exacting standards which show them in their original beauty.
