Beaumanor Hall during WWII was set up as a wireless intercept station, one of many. These stations were important in that they 'produced the flow of enemy messages to the cryptographers at Bletchley Park". Nicholls (Nixon) served as a Special Wireless Operator at Beaumanor from 1942-1945 and this book provides a look at the work done at that time, the place and the staff.
