About the Author:
David Flanagan is a climber, cyclist, writer and freelance journalist from Dublin, Ireland.

He has been climbing for nearly 20 years, focusing mostly on exploring and developing new bouldering problems and areas across Ireland. From the early days of his climbing career he kept notes and drew topos and maps of his discoveries, eventually documenting them on his website, theshortspan.com. In 2010 he was made redundant from his boring software engineering job and decided that the time was right to publish a proper guide to Bouldering in Ireland. And just over a year later he self-published his first book, Bouldering in Ireland.

He formed Three Rock Books and in late September of 2013 he published his second book Bouldering Essentials. Since then he has published a guide to the best of Irish rock climbing, Rock Climbing in Ireland, and a guide to Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, Exploring Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.

He has just released (May 2018) Cycling in Ireland, a guide to the best of Irish cycling.
Review:
"Open at a random page and the chances are you will behold a piece of rock that howls to be climbed. In fact the whole thing just looks good."

Andy Moles, UK Climbing

"This is a thoroughly modern affair, similar in style to Rupert Davies' Peak bouldering guide and Ryan Plews and Steve Dunnings' recent Yorkshire bouldering guide. It showcases the best that Ireland has to offer, and is both revelatory and inspiring in the process."
Simon Panton, North Wales Bouldering

"I received a copy of Dave Flanagan's long-anticipated guide toBouldering in Ireland and it is obvious from the first flick-throughthat this is one of the most stunningly produced bouldering guides out there! It is simply slabber-inducing and the sense of adventure jumps off each page."

John Watson, Stone Country Press

"Both the volume of problems detailed (over 1700) and the range of sumptuous colour photographs combine to create a vision of an endlessly rich and surprisingbouldering region, and one which has seemingly limitless scope forfurther exploration."

David Pickford, Climb Magazine
