9780960757619: Here walks my enemy: The story of Luis

Here Walks My Enemy tells the true story of Luis and his life growing up in urban Dallas. How Luis came to believe in Jesus for the free gift of eternal life is told as well as the times Luis strayed from the Lord and experienced His loving correction.

What a reader gets is insight into how it is like to grow up in the Dallas barios. For most of us it is a view into a whole other world. This book also illustrates as well how God deals with a backsliding believer and how the assurance of salvation plays a key role in the Christian life. The book recounts many dangerous, action-oriented and suspenseful situations Luis faced while growing up as well as times of humor and romance. However, what makes this book all the more interesting is knowing what you are reading is a true story.

It is rare to find books that are exciting, true, and contain spiritual truths. Once you start to read this book, you will find it is tough to put it down before you finish!

From the Back Cover:

Luis's grandfather, Viviano Canales, was born in Mexico and came to the United States as a young man. He brought with him the many traditions and proud dignity which are the heritage of Hispanic people. Luis was heir to this heritage but also to the struggles and conflicts of growing up as a Latino.

The pressures of the barrio shaped his experience and filled it with danger. Survival was an art and life often hung by a slender thread. And in the midst of these hazards, there walked an Enemy whose hatred for Luis was unchanging.
