Jeff Hannusch has been a resident of New Orleans since 1978. In 1986 Jeff won an American Book Award for his first book, I Hear You Knockin': the sound of New Orleans rhythm and blues. He is a tireless investigator and recorder of the entire New Orleans R&B scene.
...I went back to the original notes and interviews in order to add pertinent information and correct inaccuracies in order to tell a more complete story. Indeed, rereading the original stories and essays induced me to relisten to more music, compare facts, ask more questions, and reread and correct the errors that often seemed to leap off the old clippings.
