About the Author

Lead author, Dr. Bruce M. Pavlik, teaches botany at Mills College, in Oakland, California. His research specialties include the oaks of southern California, native plants of desert dunes, and the re-introduction of near-extinct plant species to their native habitat. The co-authors are Dr. Pamela Muick, Dr. Sharon Johnson, and Marjorie Popper, all of whom are active in oak conservation issues in California.
