Clyde Butcher: Portfolio I, Florida Landscapes" is a celebration of the secret side of the Sunshine State. Landscape photographer Butcher, has made a career of fine art photography for almost 40 years and is considered one of world's finest landscape photographers. Butcher, 63, shoots only in black and white. He uses old fashioned view cameras, some built in the early 1900s. These cameras can weigh up to 60 pounds and have film sizes as large as 12 by 20 inches. Butcher's dramatic use of light and his ability to capture nature's own masterpieces make his photographs powerful tributes to a vanishing land. He shows the Florida I would like the cynics to see.
