With the world's wild areas under steadily-increasing pressure from an ever-expanding human population, 'Focus On Africa: Wildlife, Conservation & Man' combines the best images of 136 photographers to eight African countries from Kenya to South Africa with a thoughtful and balanced examination of the problem - its origins & possible solution. Opening with an essay by Dr. Richard Leakey, the book includes revealing views from African guides & informative profiles of the eight countries visited. The quality of the photographs stands comparison with any on the market, but more than that, the project created a venue in which ordinary people could do more than just talk about a world problem.

About the Author
David S. Anderson is widely recognized and respected in Africa as an operator of quality tours for the past nineteen years.
David R. Bridge spent eighteen years with the National Geographic Society directing the illustration content of more than thirty books. He is presently a freelance writer/photographer.

This handsome book, replete with stunning images from eight African countries, is meant to serve a far greater purpose than resting on a coffee table. The publisher hopes the volume inspires increased ecotourism and in so doing will raise the funds necessary to protect Africa's wilderness environment and wildlife. A vital aspect of this project pivoted around amateur photographers, who in exchange for discounted safaris were to supply visual evidence of Africa's breathtaking beauty and the fragile balance of its existing ecosystem. The photographs that have been selected provide enchanting documentation of African realms, while the text offers an inquiry into the critical nature of the current situation and volunteers suggestions for constructive change.
