The Art of Shelling is a shell hunting guidebook. It is interesting reading for everyone who loves seashells and the seashore environment. The book explains what shells are and details specifically where and how to find them. The information is presented in an enjoyable and easy-to-read format. After learning about each location, you will feel as though you had actually been there. This completely revised second edition is the authors way of sharing what they have learned during more than fifteen years of intensive seashore travel, beach exploration, and mollusk study.

Chuck and Debbie Robinson have been interested in seashells and the seashore since childhood. They both grew up on the New Jersey shore and together they have been combing beaches since 1984. The Robinsons have searched for seashells on United States East Coast beaches from Florida to Maine. They have also been shelling in Canada, the Bahamas, Bermuda, St.Martin, Hawaii, and in the United States Virgin Islands at St.Thomas and St.John.
The Robinsons began there writing careers with the first edition of The Art of Shelling published in 1995. Their children's book Treasure For Our Sand Castle was published in 1997. Chuck and Debbie have both titles in slide format. They lecture extensively, presenting to schools, libraries, reading conferences, community organizations, and nature groups.
Chuck is a free lance newspaper photographer. He is also producing and marketing his seashore photography.
Debbie has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Education. She is the Director of Business Education and Training at Ocean County College, Toms River, New Jersey.
