Life's Tapestry:
We seemed so different you and I
like black and white you can't deny.
Some said that we would never last,
their voices now a faded past.
For they could not see the love at our core
growing with life's learnings deeper and more.
Our differences, once tormenting voices,
are now what we seek to balance our choices.
We've uncovered a way-a mystery to some,
finding mutual deep purpose to shape our outcome.
As partners we journey and are destined to be,
mixing black and white to create color
for life's tapestry.
Full and Empty:
Our meetings are full
of schedules
timed talk and
quick decisions.
They are full
of words that swirl
at the surface
of deeper issues.
They are full
of giving information,
fixing problems,
and staying on track.
They are full
of ego building,
defending, blaming,
and judgment of others.
They are full
of quieting the voices,
that bring questions and
unwanted truths.
Our meetings are full
and I am left empty.
Our meetings are full
and I am left empty.
Give me one clear
moment of silence
and the courage
to show my vulnerable self.
Let me be an invitation
for us to be together
in a meaningful,
genuine way.
Comfort Zone:
Welcome to the comfort zone.
A place where some strive to be
and stagnate.
A place where some hurry to leave
and thrive.
The body signals us
as it enjoys the comfort of the zone,
but will desperately tap its capacity
to move into the path of growth.
The mind thinks stay here
in the comfort
of well known ways
as a steady boulder does.
Yet it mourns the absence
of movement.
The spirit moves us to
the magnetic unknown
where experiences of pain and joy
are of living and becoming.
What purpose does this place provide?
The answer lies in what we do
when we notice our feet
firmly planted in the comfort zone.
Call to Action:
Listen to your voice of knowing
notice how it calls t you.
Hear the compelling triggers
shouting for attention, reflection and action.
In the confusion...
Ask, is this a normal part of growth?
Seek the deeper questions.
In the act of blaming...
Ask, how am I contributing to this?
Publicly disclose your insight.
In the act of apathy...
Ask, what brings purpose and meaning to my life?
Tap courage and follow your path.
In the act of arrogance...
Ask, who do I need help from?
Show your vulnerability.
In the act of defensivness..
Ask, what is behind my reaction?
Be willing to change your thinking.
In the act of withdrawal...
Ask, what am I withdrawing from?
Reach out for connections.
Listen to your voice of knowing
Answer when it calls to you.
