Synopsis
While Hollywood has captured the reality of D-Day, it has not captured the hearts, the tears, the pain of leaders like "Ace" Parker and his men. This is the remarkable story of Company A and the 5th Ranger Battalion and what happened on D-Day and the days that followed. "Ace" Parker and his men were credited with moving further inland than any other group on D-Day. "Ace" was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame.

About the Author
Marcia Moen and Margo Heinen, identical twin nieces of "Ace" Parker, grew up on a farm in west central Minnesota. They visited their mother's brother, "Uncle Chuck" often but had no idea that he was a World War II hero. Marcia graduated from Bethel College with a degree in Nursing and is now a nurse practitioner residing in Elk River, MN. with her husband. Margo graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Education and is now a sales consultant living in Hudson, Ohio. They remain close in spite of the distance that separates them. Charles "Ace" Parker, now 80 years old, resides in Anoka, MN. where he has lived for the past 39 years.
