9780965166690: A Walk Through Fire

This is a continuation of the saga of the Heath family of London from the beginning of WWII until its end, how we survived danger, separations and, inspite of it all, how we rebuilt our lives. This book gives a narrow, but personal account of my life surviving the war years when I was in my late teens and early twenties. It describes events of the war as seen through my eyes. I wrote this book at the urging of many readers of my previous book, A LEGACY OF SILENCE. "What happened next?" was an often asked question. What happened to my Mother who suffered from Post-Partum Depression? What was my sister's fate, 7 years my senior, my surragate mother and best friend? How were the relationships with my two brothers, Louis and Alexander, 16 and 18 years my senior resolved? This, then, is my attempt to answer those questions.

Review:

"If you fell in love with the Heath family of London, in A LEGACY OF SILENCE, as I did, you are in for a treat! A WALK THROUGH FIRE is written with the charm and clarity we now expect of Delia Sellers and is a compelling read. I simply didn't want the book to end." --Rita Rainville, Author of 26 novels

"It seems as if my wife and I have always known Delia Sellers, even though we met just a few short years ago. Perhaps it was the calm, self-confidence that exuded from her demeanor. We were fascinated by the scope of her work and her dedication to the less fortunate. I was excited to learn that she and I experienced WWII from opposite sides of the globe. Her personal Battle of Britian war stories brought chills and memories I thought long forgotten. Read her life story and you will find yourself enmeshed in the joys and challenges of a life well lived." --Rev. Dr. Rick Prigmore, Universal Brotherhood, Duluth GA

"Delia Sellers tells the fascinating story of a woman's betrayal, heatbreak and eventual triumph. There's simply no way you can leave us hanging. You've got another book to write! To say that your exciting story held my attention, would be an understatement. I simply couldn't put it down. Your's is an engrossing, real-life story of a young woman's betrayed innocense as she deals with its aftermath amid the destruction and horrors of WWII in England. And well told it is! We are with you every step of the way to the war's eventual end and your anticipated departure from England. Next you must tell your legion of readers about your new life - a story, I'm sure, that will be of equal interest to all who have fallen in love with our Delia!" --Don McArt, Author and Actor appearing in SAY GOOD NIGHT GRACIE (A Tony nominated BEST PLAY)
