5 avg rating
( 1 ratings by Goodreads )

William Walton was born in Stroudsburg, Pa. A devout Quaker, he felt the patriotic need to enlist in the patriotic cause. He was involved in some of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. He eventually returned to Stroudsburg, married, and became postmaster of Stroudsburg. These letters provide a bird's-eye account of the war.
