About the Author

Dr. Bridgman is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in Lake Forest, CA. She earned her undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Illinois, and her Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Biola University in La Mirada, California. She speaks on a variety of women's issues, and has been a featured guest on local radio and television programs. In 1993, Dr. Bridgman founded the Empty Arms support group ministry at Saddleback Valley Community Church in Lake Forest, CA. Her book In Heavenly Arms has been used to run self-help groups at various churches and crises pregnancy centers across the United States and in other countries around the world. Dr. Bridgman has a special burden for grieving parents who have lost their babies through miscarriage or infant death. She and her husband have suffered four miscarriages and one stillbirth. Dr. Bridgman resides with her husband and three children in southern California.
