From the Third Edition, RADAR FOR METEOROLOGISTS is a comprehensive overview of the use of radar for the detection of meteorological an non-meteorological targets. While it covers the theoretical basis for using radar in an understandable and easy to read way, it also discusses prac-tical ways in which radar data are used and how to interpret the images now provided by modern Doppler radars. Ronald E. Rinehart has been working with radar since his first research project as an undergraduate student. He has worked as a scientist and researcher at the Illinois State Water Survey, the National Center for Atmospheric Research, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and at the University of North Dakota where he is a professor teaching in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences. Rinehart has used radar on numerous scientific, operational and weather modification projects in a dozen states plus Kenya, South Africa, and Alberta, Canada.
