About the Author

jessica Care moore is one of the most celebrated poets of her generation. The Detroit native received international acclaim after making history at the famous Apollo Theater, wining a record five weeks in a row. She has gone on to read and perform her poetry around the US and Europe,including Berlin, France, Scotland, Holland and England. She is one of the returning stars of HBO's Def Poetry Jam. She has shared stages with legendary artists, such as, Geoge Clinton, Roy Ayers, The Last Poets, Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez and many others. She is the author of several theater shows, Alphaphobia, There are no Asylums For the Real Crazy Women and The Revolutions and The Ladies Room.

Her work has been featured on the PBS documentary, I'll Make Me a World, Slamnation, Slam and Hughes Dream Harlem. This rennaissance woman is also the star of the independent film, His/Herstory. She is working on her first music project.
