Review:
These poems are heavy with the smell of hands, gospel hands hanging bamboo songs of life. I raise an old glass to a new time as brother Simmons walks us home to our own blood, where we singhands of welcome in the sweet noise of blackness --sonia sanchez
"This should be required reading. Danny Simmons has created the perfect marriage. The paintings are dazzling, wonderfully inventive, and are juxtaposed to street vernacular poetry that is so lyrical I felt like dancing in the paintings." --Renee Cox
