Born and raised in rural Grimes County, Texas, Sheila Morris is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and has a master's degree from The University of South Carolina. She spent four decades of her life working with numbers as a CPA, college instructor, stockbroker and corporate executive. She left numbers for words and has written two books published by Red Letter Press: Deep in the Heart - A Memoir of Love and Longing and Not Quite the Same. She has also written a screenplay adapted from Not Quite the Same. Deep won a Golden Crown Literary Society Award in 2008 in the short story/essay category and was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award. Two of her stories are included in an anthology entitled Out Loud: A Collection of Stories from Rainbow Radio.
