In Ties and Tales, 93-year-old Reva Coon reveals the story of the small town of Dunsmuir, located in the mountains of Northern California. Mrs. Coon, now known and loved by many as "The First Lady of Dunsmuir", came to the town in 1926 after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. She taught in Dunsmuir from 1942 through 1966, touching the lives of countless students, many of whom remember Reva Coon as the woman who gave lessons to live by. She has lived in Dusmuir for 71 years, and led the town to its finest hour when the Dunsmuir Centennial Celebration took the town by storm in 1986. Ties & Tales is not a history book. It is a personal, enchanting trip through the years of this small town as experienced by this rare and wonderful woman and the people she has known.
