Andrew Tevington came to ministry late, following careers in journalism, politics and law. As a lawyer, he was an assistant district attorney, state assistant attorney general and general counsel to a governor. His focus was civil rights law, including freedom of religion. Before law school, he was chief legislative aide in Washington, D.C., for a U.S. representative, press secretary for a U.S. senator and state media consultant for a presidential campaign. As a journalist be covered sports, police and city hall before becoming state capitol bureau chief for a metroplitan newspaper. Throughout this time, Tevington searched for a religious understanding of life. His quest took him through many of the world's religions and gave him the unique insight necessary to write "Our Faiths: A Peace Offering." Today he serves as local pastor for a United Methodist congregation and as director of energy utility regulation in Oklahoma. He is a graduate of Phillips Theological Seminary, the University of Oklahoma College of Law and Oklahoma State University's School of Journalism and Broadcasting. He and his artist wife, Mary Everest Tevington, live in Oklahoma City with two cats.
