About the Author:

Chad Simmons is an entrepreneur, author and strategic business consultant.

In 1979 he began a career with United Country Real Estate, America's largest country real estate franchiser. He received many of the company's national sales awards for outstanding performance. He joined the corporate management staff in 1986 and advanced through several corporate positions. These included VP/Sales, Training & Development, Marketing and he culminated his real estate career in 1996 as United's President and CEO. During that time he was the only member of management to hold the distinction of having been one of the company's top franchisees. He is also a major stockholder in the company. After forming The Corinth Press in 1996 he published his first book, The Anonymous Entrepreneur. It is a study of the entrepreneurial attitude and illustrates how one's state of mind is a key reason for many entrepreneurs' success. He shows readers how to acquire and maintain this powerful perspective. Mr. Simmons is a guest speaker and also writes a monthly column, The Entrepreneurial Attitude, for the Kansas City Small Business Monthly. He has been a business valuation expert for 20 years and taught business valuation nationwide for 15 years. His seminars on this topic have been approved for continuing education in many states and he has presented this material as an adjunct instructor at the Kansas University Business School. His newest book, the Business Valuation Bluebook is the entrepreneurs' authoritative resource on business valuation. As a strategic consultant Mr. Simmons consults with and offers assistance to individuals considering the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship, and, professionals who want to sell or buy business properties.
