Tony was born in England in 1947, and after graduating in electronics, worked in the British telecommunications industry. He emigrated to the US in 1979 to continue working with computers. In 1980, he woke up to the world of spirit and immersed himself in metaphysics while continuing a career in computers and desktop publishing.

In 1989, the Ascended Master Serapis communicated to Tony that they were to write a book together. The result was An Ascension Handbook, published in 1992 by Oughten House Publications. Providing a clear and concise explanation of the ascension process, it is now in its fifth printing.

After a period of living in Mexico where he was the editor of an English daily newspaper, Tony moved to Denver, Colorado, and started a computer school. He continued with his desktop publishing business while teaching at universities and computer schools in Denver.

Tony then moved to California to join Oughten House Publications as Editor-in-Chief and Director of Operations. He is now an independent consultant to authors on writing, editing, self-publishing, and book production.

It was December 26, 1977, and I was at Heavenly Valley, deep in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Lake Tahoe on the California-Nevada border. My parents, sister, her husband and I were in our cabin in the heart of ski country. They took the two bedrooms upstairs and I slept on a sofabed downstairs. Tonight was the night I'd chosen to conduct an experiment. It all began when I'd read a book about UFOs and Ets, called The Edge of Reality by J. Allen Hynek, a US government UFO expert, and Jacques Valee. In a magazine article, I'd also read that thoughts are real and once released from the mind, have reality of their own. The mind transmits them like a radio antenna does, and off they go into the universe, mingling with everyone else's thoughts, waiting to be picked up by whatever is out there. So, I reasoned, if I wanted to contact any beings out there, all I had to do was transmit a powerful and clear thought into the universe. The second part of the equations is attitude and intent. The only way this will work is if you earnestly want to be of service to humanity and the planet. Given that that's how I felt, I hoped that someone would pick up my message and show up on my doorstep. I still had a lot to learn about discernment and being careful what you wish for. I opened a window and breathed in the crisp night air. The cabin was remote so no artificial lights interfered with my night vision. Tiny rags of cloud scudded across the night sky. A crescent moon stuck one horn above the mountain skyline as it began its ascent to join the millions of stars punctuating the pitch black sky. The idea of getting away to this remote paradise had seemed perfect. It was just the right time and place for some quiet metaphysical work. But the universe was about to present me with an experience that would change the course of my life forever. I lit a candle and began with a prayer for divine guidance and protection. With my palms out, I raised my hands to the crystal clear night sky and began breathing and drinking in the energy. I knew that everything is energy and everything is Spirit and that energy is the matrix by which all thoughts and entities travel, so it made sense to try to merge thought and travel this way. I don't know how I knew to do this; it came from a deep level of knowing. I concentrated on reaching those who might await my sincere request and then said aloud for emphasis, "If anyone is out there, I'm here and would like to meet you." I hadn't known what to expect. Maybe a ship would land in the back yard and cosmonauts would step out and say, "Robert, we love you. Do you have any questions?" or an angel in full dress wings would appear. An hour or so had passed and nothing had happened. Finally, I went to bed, wondering if anyone had heard me. A little discouraged, I grumbled, "No one listens to your when you're twenty-two years old. It would be a miracle if anyone out there was listening." Then, I fell into a deep sleep. Little did I know that my call had been heard ... and would be answered that very same night.
