Synopsis

Observations of a Kind is an emotionally invovling and very approachable hardbound collection of 22 true-life stories that launches the reader on a magic carpet ride through the peaks and valleys of everyday life. The words paint pictures that will make you laugh, cry, smile - sometimes all at the same time!

This is a book for everybody. The message of each story gently urges you to recall your own personal observations and the meaning they have brought to your life.

Each story makes you want to read the next. Each re-read will make you discover something new. The stories are diverse as life itself; they are sometimes poignant, sometimes irreverent, sometimes laugh-out-loud funny. Sample summaries include:

"It Means a Lot to Me" is the story of a well-to-do white boy and a poor black boy with a stammer, who grow up to be best friends, and the enduring impact that relationship has on the Father of the white boy.

"Fanny, I Love You" is the bittersweet story of a boy named Charlie and a girl named Fanny, who fell in love at the age of seven, loved each other for another 82 years, but somehow never married.

"The Taxi Driver" is a harrowing cab ride across New York City with a Viet Nam War Veteran masquerading as a Taxi Driver, who experiences battlefield flashbacks as he drives.

"The Moroccan Affair" is a hilarious story about getting ripped off again and again North African style on a memorable 8-day vacation in the Moroccan countryside.

For those that order immediately, there are a limited number of hand signed first edition copies remaining. Observations of a Kind is also an attractive, high quality gift idea. The orignal art on the 4-color high gloss dustjacket was created especially for Observations by the world famous watercolor artist Errol Etienne.

About the Author

(About the Author)

Matt Crisci is a kind of Everyman. A person who has experienced and felt what most of us have, but, somehow never put pen to paper.

His stories are approachable, thoughtful, and, very true to life. A little like a Billy Joel lyric.

His wit is sometimes irreverent, always opinionated and distinctively self-effacing. A little like a Woody Allen movie.

His prose sounds like a conversation with Robert De Niro. Abrupt, honest, to the point and just a little rough at the edges.

The work, like the author, fits no convenient box, no pre-assigned mold. Each of the 22 stories covering more than 200 pages takes surprising twists and turns that will make you want to reread the stuff again and again. Even the footnotes are rather unusual to say the least!

But most of all, this book is not a book. Its an experience you are unlikely to forget. Enjoy!
