The Little Book of Breast Cancer : A Self-Teaching Guide answers questions that women and their family and friends may, or should, ask about breast cancer. The self-teaching format allows readers to see how familiar they are with breast cancer facts and medical terms, and to immediately see the answer. This easy-to-read book includes information on breast cancer, its causes, natural history, treatment (including side-effects), and results. All in clear language a non-medical person can easily understand.

I wrote this book because I saw a need for women to empower themselves by having basic information about breast cancer, including its epidemiology, natural history, treatment (including side-effects), and results. Yet many of the available resources are simply "too much," by the reports of many of my patients. My response: To try to meet the patient's immediate needs by providing an easy to read introduction to breast cancer, and to do it in an innovative question/answer format. I have compiled questions which are frequently asked by patients, and offer clear answers in terms nonmedical readers can understand. The illustrated 160-page book includes a foreword by internationally recognized breast cancer expert Lawrence Solin, MD. One added bonus: The Little Book of Breast Cancer can be read in about an hour.About the Author:
