About the Author:
Dr. Melanie Bazarte, "The Parent Doctor," holds a degree in Child Development and Teaching from Michigan State University. She attended the famous Merrill-Palmer Institute of Human Development and Family Life in Detroit, and earned a Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.

Dr. Melanie has had over 3,000 students in preschool, Head Start, first, and second grades. While giving various workshops for her classroom parents, she recognized the importance of working with families and starting even before birth.

After receiving her doctorate in Early Childhood Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Dr. Melanie designed and implemented her unique Baby & Me, Toddler & Me, and Daddy & Me programs in Florida. She teaches pre-birth Parenting 101 classes for expecting parents, as well as classes for children expecting new siblings. As a Certified Family Life Educator Dr. Melanie counsels families, and is a popular professional speaker specializing in parenting workshops and teacher/caregiver training all over the country. She frequently guests on radio and TV, has appeared on CNBC, and often gives her unique lectures in Europe.

Lucille Beseler is a registered and licensed nutritionist and holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from New York University. She is the founder of the Family Nutrition Center of South Florida. Known as "The Kids' Nutritionist," she has worked with thousands of families and practices in multiple offices.

Lucille has made children's nutritional challenges her speciality over the last 17 years, dedicating the past 12 years to serving the South Florida community. In addition to maintaining her private practice for special medical needs children and healthy children, she works as an advisor to pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, health professionals, local children's programs, and serves as a consultant to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. She has published numerous magazine and journal articles related to children's wellness and nutrition issues, and has been on radio and TV addressing the nutritional and health issues confronting children today.

In 1994 she was appointed to the Florida State Dietetics Nutrition Practice Council under the Board of Medicine, and currently serves as the chairperson for the Council which is the state licensing board for nutritionists, dieticians, and nutrition counselors.

The Pediatric Nutrition Training Program and materials Lucille has developed are rated superior and used as reference guides in local institutions and hospitals, as well as by private practitioners.

Lucille is a highly-acclaimed professional lecturer who combines wit with knowledge to provide practical solutions for nutritional problems. Her contagious enthusiasm generates audience participation making her lectures sought after by parents, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and dentists.
