"Kitty In The City, Mind Your Manners, S'il Vous Plait" is an illustrated behavioral guide for children, set in the timelessley elegant New York City. Divided into six sections, Table, Bath, Phone, Guests, Out and About, and Respecting Your Elders, each section explains practical and proper situational etiquette through the beloved characters of the "Kitty In The City" series. The book includes timeless tips for tots, from the proper way to conduct oneself at the table, to remembering basic pleasantries like "please" and "thank you." The book also addresses more contemporary guidelines of common courtesy regarding mobile phones and elevators. Whether Kitty and her friends are showing the inappropriateness of passing out invitations at school or illustrating the virtues of good hygiene, the underlying theme is undoubtedly basic respect for oneself and others.

About the Author:

Kinsley Foster was raised in suburban Ohio to appreciate the virtues of elegance and decorum. Kinsley admits that Kitty is very much her likeness of the perfect child. Sweet, polite and considerate, Kitty handles even her shortcomings with grace. As a young woman living in Los Angeles, Kinsley hopes that this book will foster the return to a time when manners were not just reserved for special occasions.

Review:

This book is an appropriate read for all ages. Younger readers are introduced to standards of behavior which, once put to practice, will instill in them the confidence to approach new situations with grace. Older readers are reminded of the long neglected institutions of etiquette and will hopefully be inspired to reinforce them in their children. We've needed a book like this for a long time! -- Patrick Dominic, reader, Los Angeles, CA

What's Inside Press was founded with the intention of promoting quality children's literature that exudes and air of confidence and positivity. Miss Foster has captured the spirit of our ambition with the characters and personalities in the "Kitty In The City" cast. We are proud to be her publisher. -- Debbie S. Kirchen, President of Creative Affairs
