Artpix 1 presents multi-media projects created by four international visual artists chosen by two curators, DAN CAMERON and THOMAS LAWSON.
Dan Cameron, chief curator at The New Museum, New York, selected HALE TENGER from Turkey and ROSANGELA RENNO from Brazil. Tenger is represented by a video of "Inside/Outside," an installation from the Fourth International Istanbul Biennial in 1995. Renno has created an interactive piece, part of an ongoing series of works in various mediums from her "Universal Archive" project.
Thomas Lawson, artist, writer and currently dean of the art school of the California Institute of the Arts, selected MARINA ROSENFELD and FIL RUTING, both artists from Los Angeles. Rosenfeld, a composer and installation artist, created "Fragment," with sound, drawings and video – part of an ongoing opera project. Ruting has written a multi-media story, titled "Roller-Skating: In Denim," with video, photographs, drawings and narration.
