THE DROPAS: Transcendental Journey is the second book in the Dropas series. It is a story of the heart and the constant conflicts it encounters with the mind. The adventure continues as humanity has been preserved one more time with the defeat of Lord Ozone and his evil ForLords. However, the celebration is bitter-sweet. As the mural Creatures are returned to their world, Scott and Timm are grieving the losses they suffered during the fall of Ozone. With the last Creature now in place, Pockets and Timm make an unwelcome discovery. The darkness that had overtaken our world has left and is now overshadowing the world within the walls.

Once again, Scott, Timm, Pockets, Willie and their young friends must unite to rid the walls of the evil that now exists there. Together, with some unexpected but welcome allies, the group journeys into the murals only to discover what really lies beyond the walls. While traveling inside the surreal labyrinth of art, another beautiful and peaceful world is revealed. But with the beauty and peace, comes darkness and disruption. The adventurers must overcome more powerful forces than what they encountered in the first story. This is now a quest more important than saving humanity. It is a journey with only one goal in mind—to preserve the existence of the souls.

From the Author:

The mind has a unique way of protecting us from pain. Although its method of creating barriers that prevent negative events from reoccurring is swift, its persistence is unwarranted at times. At some point, those walls it builds must fall.

For beyond those walls the mind creates, exists a wonderful force of nature. It is more than an organ that nourishes our body and keeps us alive, but a magical enigma for sharing a powerful energy. It provides a source of appreciation and an ability to intertwine with living things that come in contact with it.

Many people go through life struggling with the question - should I listen to my heart or my mind? Both have a solution, yet more often than not they are not in agreement. When should one be followed over the other? Some spend a lifetime searching for the answer. Those who discover it are the fortunate ones, but so are those who do not. For it is not the destination, but the journey that determines who we are and where we are headed. It is a journey like no other. It is a transcendental journey . . .

About the Author:

Author Information

Scott Etters was born in Cary, Illinois in 1963. He lived there for more than twenty-two years before taking his first job out of college. Most of his childhood was consumed with sports, school, and creating games. He was successful in football, basketball, and baseball. But it was baseball that he pursued most seriously. His childhood dream, like so many young boys, was to become a professional baseball player.

For financial reasons, Scott passed up opportunities to play at the Division II or III level. He instead tried to make it as a walk-on at the Division I level. It was there that his dream came to an end. Although discouraged, Scott drew on his experiences from playing sports and applied them to other aspects of his life.

After graduating from Bradley University with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics, he worked at a utility company as a Programmer/Analyst for two-and-a-half years. He then moved to St. Louis to work for McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing); conducting Artificial Intelligence research. While in St. Louis, Scott acquired his M.B.A. in Finance with the intention of fulfilling one of his dreams - owning a business. When he moved back to the Chicago area, he accepted a position at Argonne National Laboratory while co-founding Odyssey Creations, Inc. in 1992 with his brother Timm. Victimized by a fraudulent agent, they lost the business this past summer.

From inspirations in his life and personal experiences, Scott began his story of the Dropas. During the story’s progression, he realized he had found a new passion in life, that of writing. Again, teaming with his brother, Scott had Timm create the art work for the covers of his books.

Scott continues to refine his Meet-the-Author programs/workshops that he developed for area schools. Each program is unique in presentation, ranging from selected readings to information about realizing one’s dreams and taking advantage of the opportunities encountered in life.

Scott is actively promoting both books and the music that accompanies Book I, while conducting his school/group programs. He has also returned to school for a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and a teaching certificate. This Spring Scott will be publishing a Teacher’s Literature Guide for Book I, and will soon return to completing the third book in the series.
