We were so frustrated at the lack of adequate shoe making resources pertaining to dolls that we decided to research and develop the most complete doll shoe making book on the market. To prefect our techniques we first taught the material through an Internet course at CraftyCollege.com. Our readers and students have been overwhelmingly enthusiastic about our book.About the Author:
Virginian Bonnie B. Lewis began her professional doll making career during the Cabbage Patch craze by making and selling one hundred soft sculpture dolls in a year. The proud mother of eight and the grandmother of seven, Bonnie received a Bachelor's Degree in Radio-Television Communication with a minor in Clothing and Textiles from Brigham Young University. She has received nationwide recognition of her work winning second place in the 1998 Hoffman Challenge with her doll "Beach Babe Barbara." Bonnie combines her love of teaching and writing through her Dollmaker's Journey partnership with Mary Ann Kaahanui promoting the fine art of doll making.
New Jersey born cloth doll artist and designer Mary Ann Kaahanui spent 26 adventurous years following her husband Mel around the world with his naval career while raising children Ana and Michael. Upon retiring to Virginia, Mary Ann formed a partnership called Dollmaker's Journey with artist and designer Bonnie B. Lewis. Together they have published "Creating Fabulous Footwear For Fantastic Dolls" and "Creating Heavenly Hats for Discriminating Dolls." In addition, Mary Ann designs and publishes her Cachet line of cloth doll patterns. She enjoys a wide range of needle arts that she likes to incorporate in her doll making.
