Scott Raymond, 49, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) from 1972 to 1974 as Special Programs Personnelman and made Constellation's final combat deployment to Vietnam in 1973. Also in 1973 and at the age of 20, he was awarded a citation by the ship's commanding officer, Capt. P. H. In 1977, Raymond was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy and that same year graduated from McNeese State with a degree in Business Administration.

In the 1980's and 1990's, Raymond worked for two Fortune 500 food companies as an Account Manager. In 1991, for his sales performance, Raymond was selected for membership into the Del Monte Foods Century Club.

While studying writing at McNeese State in 1993, Raymond began his freelance writing career. Since that time, he has written and published numerous features and articles for Louisiana newspapers and magazines. His interviews have included such people as Louisiana Governor Mike Foster and former Louisiana Governor and world-renowned songwriter and singer, the late Jimmie Davis. Scott Raymond presently serves in law enforcement as a Public Information Officer. He makes his home in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with his wife, Sherrie, and their son, Jason. Their older son, Eric, is an Ensign in the U.S. Navy.
