About the Author

     Shea Darian is a family educator, national speaker, workshop leader, inclusive spiritual director, and former Level 1 trauma hospital chaplain with more than three decades of experience supporting individuals, families, caregivers, and communities through life's transitions. She offers Waldorf-inspired parenting talks and workshops, as well as grief education and support programs for people of all faiths, philosophies, and backgrounds.
     Shea is Director of Doing Grief, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, creator of the Model of Adaptive Grieving Dynamics (Illness, Crisis & Loss, Vol. 22(3), 2014), and author of the award-winning Doing Grief in Real Life: A Soulful Guide to Navigate Loss, Death & Change (Nautilus Award; IPPY Award). Her work encourages people to trust their own inner wisdom and recognize the deep connection between adaptive grieving and healing.
      She is also the author of Sanctuaries of Childhood: Nurturing a Child's Spiritual Life, a Foreword Book of the Year winner in Spirituality; Living Passages for the Whole Family, a Next Generation Indie Book Awards winner; and Seven Times the Sun, a longtime favorite among Waldorf education families and educators.
     Shea lives in Phoenix with her spouse, Andrew, Director of Desert Marigold School, a Waldorf-inspired Pre-K-Grade 12 school.
