BLACKBEARD IS BACK WITH HIS VOW OF VENGEANCE!
As the wedge of death races down toward his neck, Blackbeard utters a vow of vengeance which would not be addressed until 287 years later.
Debut novelist and veteran criminal lawyer Danny T. Ferguson has brought Blackbeard back to life in the year 2002 when a dna-certified descendant of Blackbeard, a modern day sea rogue from North Carolina's Outer Banks, seeks to fulfill his reverred patriarch's ancient Vow of Vengeance.
In his high speed Fountain yacht, the blackbearded, drug-dealing murderer speeds north through the coastal waters of North Carolina, chased by Gunny Vernon, a retired Marine, who is desperately seeking to rescue his kidnapped daughter.
Young lawyer, Grayson Forest, fresh out of JAG, is on a mission of his own. Appointed to represent a young man charged with triple murder under Virginia's brand new fast track death penalty law, he struggles against a stacked deck to save his client from execution.
With his client strapped into the electric chair awaiting the jolt that will end his life, the lives of four men - two good and two evil - are zealeously headed on a quadruple collision course, a course destined to change the legal and political future of America.
Hampton Roads Harbor and the historic Chamberln Hotel provide the setting for the grand finale, where the surrogate of Satan meets the emisary of goodness for an unforgettable coup de grasse.
This 390 page hardback political-legal thriller is packed with nail-biting suspense and laced with swashbuckling pirate legend. The story pits love and duty against hate and greed, while conveying a sobering message about the human spirit and the preservation of justice in America.

In this page-turner from debut novelist Danny T. Ferguson, four men?two good and two evil?are zealously headed on a quadruple collision course, a course destined to change the legal and political future of America. VOW OF VENGEANCE Grayson Forrest, a neophyte lawyer fresh out of JAG, is appointed to defend a young Caymanian who?s been wrongly accused of murdering a mother and her infant children. Alexander Spotswood Brotherton is the ambitious governor of Virginia whose claim to fame is the fast track death penalty law, which he hopes will catapult him into the White House. Retired Marine Gunny Vernon frantically searches for his adopted daughter who has been kidnapped by a man who bears a striking resemblance to the infamous 18th Century pirate Blackbeard. Fighting desperately to defend his client against the awesome power of a political machine and a fast track death penalty law, Forrest seeks to prove the young man?s claim that a large, bearded sailor is responsible for the murders. Along the way, Forrest makes an incredible discovery?the culprit is actually a DNA-connected, genetic mutation of the most notorious pirate of all time. He's a demented giant, a triple murderer, and a ruthless kidnapper, who is now seeking to fulfill his revered predecessor?s VOW OF VENGEANCE. In hot pursuit of the Blackbeard look-alike, Gunny Vernon traverses the gale-ridden waters of North Carolina?s Outer Banks, north to Chesapeake Bay, then to Hampton Roads Harbor where all four worlds collide in a sensational gun battle. With the clock ticking away, and an innocent man about to die, the old Marine fights to save his daughter as the surrogate of Satan meets the emissary of goodness in an unforgettable coup de grace. A galvanizing story of kidnapping, murder, love, and pirate legend, this contemporary legal thriller simmers with suspense, ending with a heart-stopping climax. DANNY T.
