Ike Waits first hiked in Denali National Park while working summer jobs there in 1967 and 1968 and has lived in Alaska since 1974. He worked throughout Alaska in his community development career and is now pursuing photography and writing fulltime. In 1995 he diecided to produce the Denali Guidebook to encourage more people to get off the park bus and explore Denali. He has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Community and Regional Planning and was born in 1947.
