"Charleston, S.C.: A Magical History Tour" was filmed in 1989-90 and released in 1990. Since that time, Charleston has changed dramatically. The population has exploded, we've had a couple of hurricanes and the Navy Base closed. One thing has remained constant. This video has sold.
Because it was written and performed by a native, David A. Farrow. A tour guide since 1978, Farrow has gone on to write a best-selling novel, "The Root of All Evil" (available through Amazon), write two tour books and been all over the airwaves as a drive-time talk show radio host.
A native of Charleston, whose family arrived in 1686, Farrow brings his irreverent style to the small screen as he interviews old Charlestonians, a rapidly dying breed. Broadcast twice on local commercial stations in Charleston, "A Magical History Tour" has appeared on cable systems throughout the country. A note of caution: There are slight expletives in this piece. If you are easily offended or have no sense of humor, you might want to give this a miss. Pete Peters (co-producer/director/videographer) is an award winning-producer of documentaries about African American history and Southern culture. He is currently producing, among other things, a documentary about Southeastern Indians.
David Farrow (co-producer/writer/host)) is an author, tour guide and historian living in Charleston, S.C. He and Pete Peters are producing a documentary about The War Between The States.Review:
"Colorful... Joyous...Rapid fire! None may deliver tour guide lore better!" -- --The Chicago Tribune

"David Farrow's tour is full of the gossipy innuendo that defines the Southern eccentric!" -- -- Food and Wine
