William L. Sullivan is the author of a dozen books and numerous articles about Oregon, including an "Oregon Trails" column for the Eugene Register-Guard. His book "Listening for Coyote", the journal of a 1000-mile hike across Oregon, was chosen by the Oregon Cultural Heritage Commission in 2005 as one of the 100 most significant books in the state's history. For his comprehensive "100 Hikes" guidebooks, Sullivan has hiked virtually every trail in the state. His memoir, "Cabin Fever", appeared in 2004.
