The Guide to South Florida Off-Road Bicycling is an 80 page book featuring over twenty, approved, off-road bicycling destinations in South Florida: everything from technically challenging singletrack to more nature-oriented dirt roads and woodsy doubletrack. The Guide includes detailed descriptions, directions, maps, photos, wildlife information, local contacts, best times to ride, and even a history of Southeast Florida mtn-biking. Most of the trails described within the Guide have never before appeared in print. Moreover, the Guide is the first regional off-road bicycling guide that focuses only on South Florida riding.

About the Author:

Rob DeGraaf is a native South Floridian who is active locally in off-road cycling advocacy and trail construction and maintenance. He has spent countless hours pursuing these inter-related efforts. Several ride sites appear in this guide as a result of his personal advocacy efforts. Rob is a long time member of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), a committee member of the Florida Off-Road Bicycle Advocates (FORBA), a working committee of the Florida Bicycle Association. He has served as a member of the South Florida Greenways Task Force representing off-road bicyclists in South Florida, and is a past board member of Club Mud. Rob is an Outward Bound graduate and holds a BA in Psychology from Florida International University. As a strong proponent for the preservation of Florida's natural lands, Rob is also passionate for the sport of mountain biking and for the positive presence off- road cyclists work to achieve and maintain in Florida. Rob is currently working on his second book which will cover West-Central Florida.

Within this shady perimeter section lies a long and straight 10-15 foot high spoils ridge. The singletrack makes great use of both shade and ridge. The ridge is characterized by several short, steep climbs and descents, and a few slightly off-camber sections where the trail parallels the base of the ridge. . . .
