Born in Poland, behind the Iron Curtain, Rozy is the 73-year-old president of Rozy Inc., a Eugene, Oregon company that makes embossed floral greeting cards. The business was started out of a garage when she was 56 years old.
When she was 5, Rozy moved from Poland to Bogota, Colombia. There she studied and became a bilingual secretary at the US embassy during World War II and eventally started her own travel agency.
Later, she moved to the United States and became a water color artist in San Francisco and Eugene, producing limited edition embossed floral prints which she sold through upper-end stores and at trade shows. In the early 1980s, during the nations economic recession, she found that market vanishing.
Remembering a stash of greeting cards based on her prints tucked away in the garage, she took the card show on the road. Visiting one or two of the finest stores in each city, she built a customer base most of whom are still her customers today.
Over the years many people in business have asked her for advice and she has always been happy share what she has learned. Putting this advice into a book was a natural step and one that Rozy hopes helps and inspires others to succeed.Review:
