In 1993 I was a couch potato. It took me about ten years to achieve this status. Ten years of neglect laced with lots of good food, good drink and good times. I was not ready for the fun to stop but I did not see a bright future in continuing to gain weight and continuing to be totally out-of-shape. How could I manage to keep enjoying the good things in life without sacrificing my health? This was the genesis of my book.
Now, in 1999 I am fit, feeling good about my weight, but still indulge in the good things life has to offer. I run marathons but I also enjoy beer, baked goods and other delicacies we're not supposed to enjoy. The truth is you can eat almost anything you want, here is the catch.... drum roll please... in MODERATION. This "M" word seems to have lost all meaning in our society. People have no idea how much is a reasonable serving of food. They eat until they are stuffed. For exercise, if people do anything at all, they are often week-end warriors. The book helps people laugh at themselves and build a sensible eating and exercise plan customized to their needs based on their lifestyle. From the Back Cover:
