A long awaited authoritative work on using Dragon's NaturallySpeaking and much more.
This authoritative book explains basics of voice recognition to the novice, as well as advanced information to the experienced user. Although it is specifically dedicated to using the various VR programs manufactured by Dragon, it can be of enormous help to users of all VR programs. It also contains valuable information on hardware, and precious tips on ways of making dictation smoother and more productive. Well written, very legible layout, and a rich CD attached with extra macros and programs. -- Itamar Even-Zohar, Professor of Culture Research; Jan. 20, 2000
While it may have more information than the average user can take advantage of, for professionals in the industry, or power users of this new technology, this book will become an invaluable resource. Many thanks... and good luck with this venture (although luck will have nothing to do with your well deserved success). -- Edward S. Rosenthal, President and CEO, Next Generation Technologies, Inc.
Without doubt the book contains a very large quantity of extremely helpful and useful information. And it contains a lot of material which I did not expect to see but was very glad to see included. Although the book is written so as to be an easy read, it is, to my relief, always literate (at least in what I have covered so far) and never "painful" in the manner in which things in it are expressed.
I think too that it is fair to say that it is written with considerable psychological insight into how best to make instructions as easy as possible for the reader to understand and follow. Indeed, it is often quite fun, and without being irritatingly so.
Again to my relief, it contains a large index which, at first sight at least, seems to be sufficiently comprehensive.
What I have written above is entirely unsolicited -- N.M.G.
