About the Author:

Bill Endert was born and raised in Haarlem, Holland.He worked as a deckhand on ocean going vessels transporting lumber from Sweden and Finland. Having a taste of the forest, Bill enrolled in a three year forestry course awakening a longing to work in the woods. Bill landed in Vancouver on July 2nd, 1960 with a recommendation to work in a sawmill, however the date he arrived the mill burned down. That turn of events changed Bill's destiny and took him into the world of the Timbercruisers.
