Tired of hearing about everyone else’s Internet success stories “from the good old days?”
Wondering if there is still a way to launch and manage a viable, profitable E-Business?
For every small business owner, home office operator, entrepreneur, or any person with a vision and an idea who has wanted to compete and win in the Connected Economy, G. Liam Thompson has some good news:
It’s your turn now...and this time, it has nothing to do with spending a lot of money.
E-Business To Go: Insider Secrets shows how any organization, regardless of size or budget, can create, launch, and manage a successful, moneymaking E-Business today, for little or no cost at all. Through hundreds of footnoted resources, case-studies from Fortune 500 companies and small business, and a variety of power tools and tactics, E-Business To Go: Insider Secrets shows how anyone with online access can compete in the Connected Marketplace, and win. Yet do it all without spending much more than a dollar a day.
Plus E-Business To Go: Insider Secrets has the first comprehensive reviews of the latest ASP-based site-builder and store-builder "apps on tap" that enable users to create killer E-Business systems without a lick of programming or graphic arts skills required. Together with the other low-cost principles, tips, and tactics that are fully detailed, indexed and annotated in the exhaustive back matter, these insider’s secrets can help to instantly transform any small business, into a BIG business on the Internet.
Make no mistake. E-Business is alive and well, and continuing to grow at an exponential rate worldwide. By this time next year, numerous countries in Europe and the Pacific Rim will have as many people connected and doing business online as the U.S. This is the new global marketplace in which you can be competing and selling in...today!
The NASDAQ correction may have brought some welcome sobriety to the tech sectors, but it did nothing to stop the growth and expansion of business facilitated by online economies. Research shows that more than ever, organizations that follow some simple basic principles of doing business in the Connected Marketplace are quietly capturing new markets, opening up new opportunities, and reaping huge profits online.
Until now, for the many who have wanted to jump into E-Business full-throttle, the prospect of having to learn HTML programming, or the costs associated with hiring a team of experts to build and manage the enterprise have seemed prohibitive. Today, however, things are different. With some inside information on what to use, and where to find it, anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can look and operate just like the best online retailers, without having to know programming, and without having to spend more than $1/day to operate.

G. Liam Thompson is the coach and mentor every Small Business owner and entrepreneur dreams of, and every overpaid business consultant dreads. An inventor of numerous early Internet products, and developer of scores of successful, profitable online enterprises, Thompson's obvious distaste for over-inflated Internet nonsense and his unabashed disregard for political correctness have made him a favorite among corporations and organizations worldwide.
We've had G. Liam Thompson on our radar screen for most of the past decade, resisting the temptation to give our E-Business series to one of the many traditional consultants from the traditional author's pool, all more than willing to write us a traditional E-Business book. But we didn't. Knowing that there was a limit to the amount of pedantry and puffery the average business person who really worked for a living could take, we held out for the only author whom we believed could bring to the subject both the intensity and the integrity that our readers deserved.
We're glad we did. For Liam not only has given his readers a rich recipe loaded with research, reviews and fully annotated references; he also serves his formulas up with an efficiency and exigency that is like the Internet itself - open, honest, and direct.
G. Liam Thompson is one of the industry's earliest patriarchs, the E-Business expert that the other E-Business experts call when they want the straight story - Or the bottom-line. Thompson is also one of the few award-winning E-Business developers who haven’t let it go to his head, and we like that about him, too. A longtime contributor to trade journals, print magazines, and online resources, Thompson’s candid revelations about industry practices and business hyperbole made him a popular speaker at universities and corporate meetings across North America for years, and he captured our attention as far back as 1994.
Over the ensuing years, as dozens of Fortune 500 clients and multinational organizations turned to Liam and his teams to birth (or fix) their E-Business enterprises, we noticed a refreshing, if not irreverent tone to his writings and commentaries - A pragmatic approach to all the excesses of the Internet-mania years - A Midwestern perspective that made the big consulting firms cringe, but Small Business owners and managers cheer.
Author of the popular Techies Guide to Interpersonal Skills, Interactive Selling in a Connected Age, and other web-based handbooks, Thompson channeled most of his wisdom and writings in the 1990's through the connected marketplace exclusively. After authoring over a dozen titles and guides written specifically for online distribution, Liam finally yielded to our endless stream of requests, and agreed to scribe the E-Business To Go series for worldwide print distribution. This is the first of many to come in the series.
Appallaso Publishing is thrilled to have G. Liam Thompson join our team, and we are delighted to be able to give so many entrepreneurs, legacy business managers, new business owners, and just average folks with an online vision, this quintessential resource to compete and profit in the Connected Economy. From the Author:
Would you allow me to depart from the usual curriculum vitae approach publishers have come to expect from their authors in this section? This is the construct where the writer is asked to tell you something about himself that isn't on the book cover or jacket, usually with a folksy sort of tone, but invariably loaded with all the credentials, degrees and epaulets that support his publisher's thesis that, if he wasn't so busy writing books, their author would be teaching at M.I.T. - or at least be running a third world country somewhere.
With no disrespect for any writers, (or Cuban dictators) that have done so in the past, rather than bringing out my dress uniform, shiny medals and degrees, I'd prefer to talk about what I don't have.
I want to underscore the fact that I am not, and never was, the most qualified to write a book on designing an Internet site; or creating web pages; or writing the code for an E-Business.
To this day, I don't know a single line of HTML code, or a single element of programming. I have taken no courses in Internet programming. I never want to learn programming.
But that hasn't kept me from birthing, launching and managing scores of successful E-Business enterprises for some of the best Fortune 500 companies and Small Businesses across North America.
My point is simply this - if I can do it, you can too!
This book will show you how.
