Rebecca Spence is a published researcher and mother of two daughters, ages three and five. Her interest in child development when she was undergraduate at Cornell University and continued into her graduate work at the University of Michigan where she earned her M.A. in Psychology. There, she contributed to research focusing on reading achievement and the development of self-concept and self-esteem in children and adolescents. More recently, Rebecca earned her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and developed a career in marketing and communications. Little Mouse, Rebecca’s first children’s book, was conceived as an improvised bedtime story for her eldest daughter Clara (who at the time, resisted sleeping at all costs). Rebecca continues to be inspired by her children to write stories that nurture tiny minds and help children to grow.
